April 12, 2007 - The concert is cancelled due to the ongoing construction of the new Worship Center in Greenwood. We are looking forward to having it again in the summer of 2008.
August 6, 2005 - Pictures and videos from this years concert have been added to the site. There is a new page for videos and many of the graphics have been updated.
July 31, 2005 - Another very successful Gospel Concert. It was a perfect sunny day. There was a wide variety of music and everyone sang very well. Many of those taking part shared what the Gospel meant to them. We are very happy with this years concert and are looking forward to next year.
June 29, 2005 - The date for this years concert is July 31st from 2:00 to 8:00pm. The program is finalized and the other arrangements are almost completed. The musicians who will be singing at this years concert are Shirley Olmstead, Janice Sheridan, Sweet Presence, Fine Fellowship, Karen Froude, Havelock Trio, Wendy-Lynn Dearman, Gospel Road, Dave Graves, Door Keepers, Mark Clark & Country 45, and Sonlight. We are looking forward to another great concert with some wonderful Gospel music.
December 10, 2004 - The site is being updated with changes made throughout the site. The page with photos from past concerts has been completely changed with more pictures from the last two concerts being added. The pages containing pictures of the musicians has also been updated.
August 2, 2004 - What a great success this years concert has been! The attendance was the best yet, even though there was a threat of rain. Some people actually encountered showers on the way to Greenwood but the rain held off until after the program was completely finished in the evening. The musicians made an outstanding contribution to the success of the concert. Many thanks to everyone who played and sang. We are already looking forward to next years concert.
July 29, 2004 - A great deal of work has been completed in preparation for this years concert. This includes a clean-up of the Pines property, advertising, a new banner, printing the program, purchasing food, preparing the sound system, repairs to the platform, painting and new lighting fixtures. Thanks to the volunteers who have spent many hours getting ready for this years concert.
July 1, 2004 - The concert is almost completely organized. Posters and signs will be going up in the next few days. The program is as follows: Sweet Presence, Karen Froude, Gina Potvin (first half of set), Rev. Alden Fells, James Haughn & Calvary Temple Friends, Ron Deadder, Spur of the Moment, Dearman Sisters, Gina Potvin (second half of set), Gospel Road, Tremont Children’s Praise Team, A Voice in The Wilderness, Sonlight, Door Keepers and Karen Froude will close with several songs.
May 16, 2004 - The initial contacts with the musicians are almost completed. So far most of the responses have been positive. David Graves and the group which he plays with have agreed to be the house band for this years concert. Please e-mail us if you would like to contact him about providing back-up.
March - April 2004 - The person who contacts the musicians is beginning to make calls over the next few weeks. Preparations for the concert have begun and from this point on there will be a growing amount of work needed to be done as dead lines approach.
March 15, 2004 - The Gospel Concert In The Pines web site was launched today. The development of the site took just over two weeks.
